There are places within Los Angeles County areas that suffer from smog that covers the city. Smog alert in the area are of a frequent nature and the area is considered to be one of the most polluted areas in the United States. This is due to the amounts of vehicles on the road, the geography of the area, the Los Angeles and Long Beach Port Complex, atmospheric conditions with other nearby major cities, airplanes, locomotives, and manufacturing industries. This in itself has been no deterrent for residents coming to the area. The State of California is working tirelessly to decrease this smog problem and by all rights it is decreasing, in part to more hybrid cars and improvements in mass transit systems. Residents do not seem to care about the earthquake threats, flooding, wildfires, or mud slides. Residents embrance all that the ares has to offer and residents continue to deal with uncertainity in California.
